This includes conducting training sessions, evaluating training effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures. The Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager and other department heads to foster a culture of security awareness and preparedness. In terms of operational accountability, this means the following: Job Duties - Coordinate training schedules to ensure that all employees receive the required training in a timely manner. - Update the Warehouse Manager on guard training and performance, including any issues or achievements. - Build and maintain a positive and professional relationship with the warehouse management, ensuring that their security needs are met and addressing any concerns or issues promptly. - Assess the training needs of individual employees. - Conduct training sessions using various formats, such as hands-on demonstrations and virtual training. - Create, develop, and provide suggestions on new training resources. - Evaluate training effectiveness through performance metrics and direct observation. - Identify areas for additional training and develop new programs or modify existing ones to address needs. - Conduct regular security briefings or meetings with warehouse staff to communicate security updates, changes in procedures, and best practices. - Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and performance to monitor progress and compliance. - Provide constructive feedback to employees during training and offer guidance for improvement. - Respond to and manage security incidents following established protocols and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of incidents to appropriate stakeholders. - Foster a positive training environment that encourages participation, learning, and professional development. - Provide leadership and guidance to the security team, including mentoring and coaching. - Conduct security risk assessments for the warehouse facility and develop training programs to mitigate identified risks. - Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure training program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. - Provide guidance and support to warehouse staff during security incidents. - Performing other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Security Supervision - Ensure a daily briefing is delivered to the Security team. - Supervise daily and incident reporting by the Security team. - Supervise maintenance of all security logs. - Ensure sites are fully staffed and schedules are adjusted as meets business needs. - Supervise patrols of all Security teams. Training - Ensure all new guards on site are fully trained. - Complete quarterly training on emergency procedures with the Security team. - Ensure ongoing training with all guards is complete as new policies and procedures are rolled out by the client. Report Writing - Every guard must complete one daily occurrence report every shift. - Pass on logs must be completed every day and all guards must sign off on each log after reading. - Memos can be written out by Security & Risk (S&R;) Specialist or Security Supervisor on any changes to the site. Ensure all guards acknowledge and sign memos. - Ensure all guards are trained in incident report writing. All incident reports must be written on TrackTik and a copy emailed to S&R; Specialist and Senior S&R; Specialist. Site Instructions - Perform daily CCTV audits. - Complete weekly audits of temp and visitor access cards at both sites. - Review and save video footage as requested by S&R; team or Health and Safety team. - Assist the S&R; Specialist in making access cards for building staff. - Respond to alarms pertaining to emergency exits and fire. - Touch base weekly with the S&R; Specialists. - Monitor and log all trucks that enter/exit the yard at both buildings. - Email a weekly report on the last shift of the week to the S&R; team of all events that took place. - Assist the Security team in monitoring the parking lot and distributing parking warnings as needed. All given warnings will be input into a form and emailed to the S&R; team. - Assist the Security team in ensuring all employees register their vehicles and receive a parking permit they must display on their windshield. Requirements - You shall abide by all national, provincial and local laws governing the provision of their services as a Warehouse Site Supervisor and maintain as current any and all licenses as required by said laws, including the Security Services Act and associated laws. - You are required to hold a valid Security License. - You must be able to report to the site reliably. - Strong communication skills are essential in this role. - Previous Security experience in a Warehouse environment is highly preferred - Previous Supervisory experience is required About Blackbird Security Joining Canada's fastest-growing National Security Company is not just a job – it's an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your career and in the communities we serve.
