Peterborough, ON / Toronto Remote Contract (9 months) Project Overview
A Senior Solution Architect is needed to support Enterprise Architecture artifact creation for five projects within the Geospatial Ontario IT Program. Projects
GIS Delivery Platform Planned Maintenance FY24-25
– 20% allocation (39 days): This annually recurring maintenance project focuses on software patching, Portal for ArcGIS implementation, Geocortex to VertiGIS migration, Cyber Security analysis/mitigations, and platform architecture review/documentation. GIS Delivery Platform Modernization FY24-25
– 21% allocation (41 days): GIS infrastructure modernization focusing on implementing modern platform monitoring, analytics, and reporting middleware. LIO Modernize Data Maintenance (LIO Editor)
– 7.2% allocation (14 days): Modernization options analysis and creation/recommendation of solution design for legacy GIS data maintenance. GEO Data Maintenance Modernization
– 14.9% allocation (29 days): Modernization of legacy LIO Editor GIS data maintenance solution, including procurement of new GIS infrastructure, middleware configuration, editing tools, procedures, and adherence to Ontario Government IT governance standards. ArcGIS Portal
– 29.2% allocation (57 days): Provisioning of required ArcGIS Enterprise infrastructure and middleware, configuring, and deploying a Federated Portal for multi-ministry shared usage. MECP – Parks Legacy Tool Upgrade
– 7.7% allocation (15 days): Upgrade of an environmental classification application based in ArcMap losing vendor support. Must-Haves
Total IT experience of at least 10 years, including at least 5 years leading solution architecture on large complex projects. Experience across a variety of technologies and design approaches (GIS Enterprise tools, APIs, Data Marts, Data Lakes, vendor packaged and/or hosted solutions, Workflow Management, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science Workflows, Security, etc.).Applied Data Modelling and development of solution and program area(s) data architecture into solution architecture. Extensive experience with OPS Enterprise Architecture Gating processes, especially Architectural Gate Point 1 and 2, and the creation, review, and engagement process. Provides general and situation‑specific GIS application and infrastructure architecture interpretation advice and expertise to other project and/or enterprise level IT&IT project teams, client management and staff, clients, and external contractors. Hands‑on knowledge of programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript); modern JavaScript‑based technologies (Node.js, React, Vue, etc.); mobile development and semantic accessible languages (HTML5, CSS/SCSS).
