This position is responsible for preparing raw steel and finished product to the correct length and shape according to customer requirements using an Oxyfuel Cutting Table and Sigmanest Program. Job Overview Candidate will be assigned to operate and set up conventional or numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop math, machinability of materials and drawings. Key Job Responsibilities Setup, program-edit and run cutting tables Must be able to learn and operate other prep equipment Must be able to finish product with grinders, sanders, and hand tools. Perform daily preventive maintenance to assigned equipment to keep in proper working order. Must have the ability to read blueprints and use general measuring equipment to produce quality product to specifications. Safely move material using overhead cranes and forklifts Clean and maintain the work area Communicate effectively with coworkers and management Assist in other manufacturing areas when needed Attention to detail in a rapid-paced manufacturing setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILLS / RESPONSIBILITIES: The ability to apply knowledge of shop math, machinability or materials and drawings Download programs via disc, flash drive or direct connect Perform cuts and required nesting as defined by production Accurate completion of production and Quality Control sheets Accurate completion of work order based on production schedule Ability to read operator’s book and make appropriate parts correctly WORK CONDITIONS: Setting is that of a heavy industrial work site Outdoor elements are a factor Exposure to air particles, such as dust, chemical (paint, oil, gas, diesel fumes) and weld smoke Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, steel toed or metatarsal boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, hard hats and possible respirator use J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o8gls
