About Canada Candy Company Canada Candy Company (CCC), based in Cobourg, is the home of our Candy Manufacturing facility within Johnvince Company™. CCC delivers high‑quality, performance‑driven candy and snack solutions to leading retail and foodservice partners across Canada.
The Opportunity The Electrician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and uptime of production equipment across the facility.
This role executes preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnoses mechanical issues, and delivers timely, effective repairs to support continuous operations. Success is measured through equipment uptime, responsiveness, maintenance execution, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing and packaging departments.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems, provide quick&innovative solutions for equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving.
Operate electrical meters, can run lines, replace electrical boxes and other machine shop tools.
Deal with ESA, OHSA and MOL on electrical matters, read and understand electrical drawings.
Work with all levels of voltage up to and including 600 V.
Set up, take down, and relocate Process and Packaging equipment.
Modify packaging&process equipment for new products.
Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspection.
Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems.
Respond promptly to equipment related issues with a customer‑oriented manner.
Responsible for lockout procedures.
Work safely and follow legislated and established safe work procedures and practices.
Perform any additional duties as required in adherence to the CCC GMP policies.
What You Bring
3–4 years of progressive experience in an industrial electrical maintenance or manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and production equipment to support operational uptime.
Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills with the ability to respond effectively under pressure.
Hands‑on experience with electrical systems up to and including 600 V, including motors, control panels, wiring, electrical boxes, and production machinery.
Working knowledge of PLCs, conveyors, packaging/process equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Experience performing preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and equipment modifications for continuous improvement initiatives.
Solid understanding of ESA, OHSA, GMP, and lockout/tagout procedures with a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction&Maintenance Electrician (309A); additional mechanical or Millwright experience considered an asset.
Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, maintenance tools, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer‑service mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Progression is performance‑based and aligned with technical capability, safety performance, responsiveness, and contributions to operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
