From visitor facilities and trails to buildings and municipal service systems, project manager responsibilities span the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through construction and close out. Maintain valid driver’s license. ## **Operational Requirements** - Willingness to wear the Parks Canada uniform, identifier clothing and required safety equipment. - Willingness to travel and/or work in a variety of weather conditions and terrain for extended periods of time. - Requirement to work overtime, weekends and statutory/provincial/territorial holidays. ## **You need (essential for the job)** **Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following** EducationGraduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree in engineering or architecture¹, or a diploma in engineering technology or architectural technology², or an acceptable combination of education and experience³.¹Graduation from a post-secondary institution with a degree in engineering or architecture (i.e. University degree) combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience* within the past 6 years in construction and project management related to built assets.²Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a diploma in engineering technology or architectural technology (i.e. College diploma) combined with a minimum of 4 years of experience* within the last 6 years in construction and project management related to built assets.³Combined experience in Construction site management, Site inspection, and/or Professional Project Management of built assets, totalling 15 years of experience* within the last 20 years. EX2: Experience in establishing and leading project teams and/or multi-disciplinary teams of technical specialists and coordinating work with internal/external stakeholders. EX3: Experience with on-site supervision of construction projects and managing contractors. EX4: Experience writing technical documents such as requests for proposals and statements of work required for the provision of contracted services. KnowledgeK1: Knowledge of principles and best practices associated with project management and contract management. K2: Knowledge of standards and construction methods of civil works related to built works. AbilitiesAB1: Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information including technical drawings and specifications. AB2: Ability to plan, execute, monitor & control, and close new construction or rehabilitation projects. AB3: Ability to seek out and identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. AB4: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. AEX2 :Significant** experience in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Indigenous Groups, to complete construction or rehabilitation of built assets.** Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience acquired over a period of at least 2 years and within the last 4 years.
