Security Guard Supervisor
to oversee operations at a rural hospital site and manage a mobile patrol unit in and around Banff, Alberta. This is a hands-on leadership role: the supervisor not only manages and supports security staff but also frequently steps in as a
boots-on-the-ground guard , actively participating in patrols, responding to incidents, and ensuring safety in both environments. Our mobile patrol unit provides coverage for hotels, condominiums, and private properties, responding to noise complaints, deterring theft, and maintaining a visible security presence in the community.
Main Duties
Supervise and support security guards at the hospital site and mobile patrol unit.
Actively participate as a
boots-on-the-ground guard , responding to incidents and performing patrols alongside staff.
Monitor mobile patrol operations, which include patrolling hotels, condos, and private properties, handling noise complaints, and supporting theft prevention efforts.
Ensure adequate coverage and respond to coverage issues as they arise.
Conduct site inspections and mobile patrols to maintain a visible security presence.
Complete daily reports, incident logs, and weekly summaries.
Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and performance feedback for guards.
Act as the primary contact for client representatives and liaise with law enforcement as required.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, health&safety protocols, and client requirements.
Requirements
Language:
English (spoken and written)
Education:
Completion of secondary school required
Experience:
1–2 years security experience (supervisory experience an asset)
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Alberta Security Services License
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a rural environment
Physically capable of standing, walking, and driving for extended periods
Comfortable taking an active, hands-on role in all security operations
Work Conditions
Work takes place at a rural hospital site and through mobile patrol routes (company vehicle provided for work use).
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions during patrols.
Evening, overnight, weekend, and on-call shifts are required.
