Millwork Draftsperson and CNC Programmer (Canmore)

Basic Qualifications: 1) Woodworking experience 2) Minimum 3 years of experience, Ideally as a Draftsperson in Woodworking 3) Minimum 2 years of experience, as a CNC Operator processing wood components. Essential Requirements: 1) Must be comfortable with custom cabinet making. 2) Must be organized, efficient and accurate in performing the duties and responsibilities of this position. 3) Be proficient in the use of Homag CNC machine and Beamsaw, as well as be knowledgeable in their maintenance. 4) Must have good knowledge of machining different solid wood types, plastic laminates, plywood, particleboard, veneered particleboard/MDF and veneers. 5) Must understand the various tooling needed for different materials and applications. 6) Ideally previous use of Woodwop and Cutrite would be preferred. 7) Drafting experience in 3D – Pytha experience would be preferred. 8) Be able to read and interpret Designer and Architectural drawings. 9) Be able to work well with other employees, and participate in training apprentices on the use of CNC machines. 10) Must be able to collaborate in a team environment. 11) Solid command of the English language; spoken, written and reading. Job Description: 1) Drafting working drawings for millwork fabrication, from Designer and Architectural drawings. 2) Create cutlists from Pytha drawings 3) Create CNC code from Pytha 4) Create Beamsaw code for cutrite from XL cutlists 5) Order material lumber, sheets, and hardware as needed 6) Operate CNC machine when needed, use cutting lists and drawings to cut pieces to size with accuracy. 7) Change tooling as needed, send for sharpening etc. 8) Maintenance and cleaning of CNC. 9) If requested by Shop Foreman, be willing and able to assemble pieces at the workbench, or any other jobs necessary to meet production deadlines. 10) This position is under direct supervision of Project manager Wage: This will be determined by experience, and will increase if merited with job performance.
