Senior Technical Architect (Banff)

The Senior Technical Architect serves as a top-tier technology leader responsible for defining and driving the enterprise-wide architectural strategy and standards. This role works closely with C-level executives, business leaders, and CIOs to align technology transformation initiatives with business vision and goals. They champion innovation, oversees complex multi-domain architecture programs, and provides guidance on the adoption of emerging technologies. They lead architecture governance, mentor senior architects, and influence organizational technology direction at the highest levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and communicate enterprise architecture vision, principles, and roadmaps that align with business strategy and objectives.
• Lead the design and governance of complex, multi-domain technology architectures across cloud, data, application, and infrastructure layers.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize architecture initiatives and technology investments.
• Provide strategic advice and thought leadership on emerging technologies, digital transformation, and innovation opportunities.
• Oversee architecture governance processes, ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and guide principal architects and other senior technical leaders to enhance architectural competency across the organization.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to implement enterprise solutions that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Lead complex architectural reviews, risk assessments, and impact analyses for critical projects and programs.
• Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and client engagements as a recognized thought leader.
• Promote continuous improvement and adoption of architecture best practices and frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s) highly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressively senior experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or related technology leadership roles.
• Proven expertise in developing and executing enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps across diverse technology domains.
• Deep knowledge of cloud computing, microservices, data architectures, security frameworks, and integration patterns.
• Solid experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
• Exceptional leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging at C-level and boardroom levels.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire senior technical teams and drive organizational change.
• Recognized industry certifications and thought leadership (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect certifications) are strongly preferred.
