The café portion of Gordon’s provides a variety of pre-made and fresh food options with a full espresso bar that is licensed to sell alcohol. Position Overview We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Production Cook to join Gordon’s. As part of the kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation, handling, and the delivery of high-quality food to our customers. Kitchen Production Cook Responsibilities Food Preparation and Meal Assembly - Prepare a variety of ready-made meals both fresh and frozen in large quantities. - Assist in the preparation, assembly and packaging of sandwiches, salads and smoothies for café customers. - Prepare and assemble baked fresh café items including croissants, cookies, and muffins as needed. - Follow recipes and guidelines provided by the Kitchen Manager. Cooking and Baking - Cook and bake various products and meals as directed by the Kitchen Manager. - Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and safety standards. Food Safety and Handling - Adhere to all food safety and handling protocols and guidelines. - Maintain proper food storage and labelling practices. Cleaning and Maintenance - Assist in washing dishes and maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure longevity. - Participate in daily cleaning routines to maintain kitchen hygiene and organization. - Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean and free from hazards. Inventory Management - Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels. - Assist in stocking and receiving supplies. Additional Support - Support the Kitchen Manager with various other tasks as assigned. - Be flexible and willing to take on new tasks as the menu and business needs evolve. Schedule - This is a part time role required to work weekends only Qualifications - Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is required. - Food preparation for catering is preferred. - Knowledge of food safety and handling guidelines. - Ability to work independently. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Good communication and teamwork skills. - Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities. - Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation. - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Food handler’s certificate or willingness to obtain one prior to start.
