The Wilde School and Elephant Thoughts are seeking motivated individuals to participate in a 12-week Workforce Development Training Program focused on gardening, property maintenance, and hands-on outdoor work. This paid training opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in building practical skills in landscaping, gardening, labour, property care, and team-based work in a supportive learning workplace. Program Details - Duration: 12 weeks - Hours: 32 hours per week - Start Date: June 8, 2026 Training Areas Include: - Gardening and planting - Property and grounds maintenance - Landscaping support - Lawn and trail care - Greenhouse and agriculture support - Safe tool and equipment use - Teamwork and workplace communication - Time management and accountability - Hospitality and social enterprise exposure Responsibilities: - Assisting with garden and property upkeep - Watering, weeding, planting, and harvesting - Supporting outdoor maintenance projects - Cleaning and organizing outdoor work areas - Working alongside staff and fellow trainees - Participating in daily training activities and team check-ins Job Readiness & Employment Support: In addition to hands-on training, participants will receive support in building workplace readiness skills, including: - Resume and cover letter development - Interview preparation and mock interviews - Paid certifications to add to your resume - Goal setting and career planning Participants will also receive post-training support with finding employment opportunities related to landscaping, gardening, hospitality, property maintenance, and other hands-on industries. Ideal Candidates We are looking for individuals who are: - Interested in outdoor and hands-on work - Willing to learn and take direction - Reliable and punctual - Comfortable working in varying weather conditions - Team-oriented and respectful - Interested in building workplace confidence and experience No prior experience is required. Training and support will be provided throughout the program.
