Job Overview The Host/Hostess at Pur & Simple is the first point of contact for our guests. This role is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and organized front-of-house experience. The host/hostess manages the flow of guests, coordinates seating, and supports a smooth service setting while maintaining Pur & Simple’s standards for hospitality and efficiency. Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience Greet all guests promptly with a friendly, positive attitude. Provide menus, answer basic questions about the restaurant, and ensure guests feel welcome. Manage the waitlist when required and provide accurate wait-time estimates. Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortably seated. Service Coordination Maintain an organized seating chart to support balanced server sections. Communicate table statuses clearly with servers, bussers, and management. Assist with phone calls, including reservations, inquiries, and takeout orders (if applicable). Monitor restaurant flow and adjust seating strategy during busy periods. Cleanliness & Presentation Keep the host stand area tidy, stocked, and organized at all times. Assist in keeping entrance areas clean and welcoming. Help with resetting tables when needed to support smooth service turnover. Teamwork & Communication Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and managers to ensure efficient operations. Communicate guest needs, special requests, or concerns promptly to the appropriate team members. Support the front-of-house team with additional tasks during peak hours. Qualifications & Skills Friendly, outgoing, and qualified demeanor. Robust communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and stay calm during high-volume periods. Previous experience in a restaurant or customer service role (an asset but not required). Ability to stand for extended periods. Availability for mornings, weekends, and holidays.
