Salary: $60,000 Full Time Hours

Must be able to work days, afternoons and overnight shifts

What will I be doing? The Assistant Manager, Grooming&Snowmaking will report directly to the Director, Slope Operations and will oversee a team of Groomers, Snowmakers, Welders, and Heavy Equipment Operators. This position is responsible for helping to create a community of employees united by purpose and fun, deliver a mountain experience to guests that inspires stories, and achieve departmental objectives and key results. The assistant manager and their team ensure the best and safest on-hill product is produced and maintained, planning, supervising, and coordinating grooming, snowmaking, and summer construction projects.

Leading by example; working alongside team members to ensure the team is supported

Managing performance and motivating by setting clear expectations, measuring productivity, coaching, addressing concerns, and recognizing achievements.

Creating and maintaining schedules according to budgets and operational demands.

Planning and providing standardized onboarding and training.

Enforcing safety regulations and coordinating accident procedures.

Coordinating and overseeing daily shift work and team communications.

Coordinating maintenance and timely reporting of equipment issues to maximize uptime.

What do we need from you?

5+ years snowmaking or grooming experience required.

Landscape construction experience an asset.

Experience managing a medium size (30+ employees) work unit an asset.

Comfort level working outdoors in extreme weather (heat or cold).

Ability to work weekend, day and overnight shifts.
