Description
Primary Duties:
Provides consultation, analysis, evaluation and review of problems regarding methods and equipment, material handling, layout and material flow.
Provides alternative solutions to anticipated or actual technical related manufacturing problems.
Provides specification for new equipment.
Generates time studies, charts and reports.
Evaluates and implements projects that reduce cost, increase value and/or improve quality.
Works with health and safety to design process safeguards and improve team member safety.
Responsible for training on the process changes.
Provides assistance in trouble shooting equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production.
Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles and Minimum Controls.
Support all new model launch, PFMEA, Control Plan, and TS requirements.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Mechanical or Electrical
5 to 7 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment; automotive experience is an asset
Problem solving skills
Interpersonal, verbal and writing skills are necessary
Leadership skills
Qualifications Desired:
Six Sigma training
Previous glass experience
AutoCAD experience
Authority and responsibility for quality for this position is defined in the Quality Manual/local documentation and apply as appropriate.
