Landscape Skilled Labourer (Collingwood)

Overview: Best Development Group is hiring a reliable, skilled labourer to support excavation and installation for new and replacement sidewalks and landscaping projects. Work closely with machine operators and crew leads to ensure safe, efficient job site operations. Key Responsibilities: - Assist with excavation, backfilling, grading, and compaction for sidewalks and landscaping. - Prepare and spread base materials, set forms, and assist with concrete placement or paver installation. - Operate hand and small power tools (plate compactor, saws, tampers, wheelbarrows, etc.). - Lay out stringlines, batter boards, and assist with basic leveling and measuring. - Load/unload materials, move supplies, and maintain an organized work area. - Perform site cleanup, debris removal, and proper disposal of materials. - Follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report hazards or incidents. - Support machine operators and crew leads; follow directions and help maintain productivity. - Complete daily logs or basic paperwork as required. Qualifications: - Previous experience in landscaping, concrete, or construction labor preferred. - Comfortable using hand tools and light equipment; able to learn under guidance. - Physically fit; able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in wide-ranging weather. - Good communication skills, reliable, punctual, and a team player. - Basic ability to read measurements, follow grades, and use a level/stringline. - Valid driver’s license preferred.
