CDL Driver Trainer, Northeast Newfoundland (Lewisporte)

We are seeking a Driver Trainer to lead hands‑on driver training within a commercial trucking fleet environment. This is a field‑based role, not classroom‑only. You will work directly with drivers to train on equipment, safety procedures, and real‑world driving scenarios, ensuring they are fully prepared to operate independently. Thisposition plays a critical role in improving driver performance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on driver training (trailer hookups, backing, maneuvering, real‑world driving) Conduct driver orientation programs focused on safety, compliance, and company standards Evaluate driver performance in live environments and provide corrective coaching Ensure drivers meet all certification and compliance requirements before operating independentlyReinforce DOT regulations, safety protocols, and driver behavior expectations Conduct ride‑alongs to assess real‑time driver performance Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance documentation Partner with safety leadership to address incidents, retraining, and performance gapsSupport ongoing driver development through refresher training and improvement plans Qualifications

3+ years of experience in commercial trucking, fleet operations, or driver training Experience conducting hands‑on driver training or trucking orientation (required) Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and driver compliance standards Ability to physically demonstrate and train on equipment (trailers, hookups, etc.)CDL preferred or prior professional driving experience strongly desired Must have real-world trucking experience (classroom‑only backgrounds will not be considered) Experience evaluating drivers in live, real‑world environments Strong communication and coaching skills Benefits
