VIAS Roadway Design Engineer Role, Raleigh

Become a key player in roadway design at VIAS, applying your skills in OpenRoads Designer and North Carolina standards. This role is pivotal for impactful transportation solutions.

As a Roadway Design Engineer, you will lead and support roadway project designs from inception to completion. Your technical foundation in highway design and 5+ years of experience will ensure that you effectively develop design documents and validate compliance with state standards. Collaborating with various project stakeholders, you'll shape project deliverables and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:• Create comprehensive roadway design plans and construction documents • Conduct alignment design and grading with OpenRoads Designer • Coordinate with various engineering disciplines during development • Generate design calculations and cost estimates as needed • Build strong relationships with project managers and clients

Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering • Minimum 5 years of transportation design experience • Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) • Understanding of NCDOT processes and standards • Strong communication and multitasking abilities
