Role Overview:
The 3rd class Engineer serves as the Engineer in charge and fully responsible for Canadian Adventure Charters Inc, vessel operations and is responsible for the success of the Corporation. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Chief Engineer is responsible for creating and implementing a clear sense of direction for the Corporation and its related businesses by defining, communicating, and overseeing the Corporation’s mission, goals, operating principles, and strategic actions. Responsibilities include design and development of CAC and CCC World‑class State of the Art Green/Blue Mega Port and Oceanographic Research Laboratory, development of CAC super luxury explore yacht hub and charter platform, collaboration with charter management and operations teams for the main port facilities, creation of brand and global partnering networks, promotion of Bonvista Bay, Newfoundland&Labrador (Iceberg Alley) as the International Cross Road Intersection of the Seven Sea’s and Ocean Gateway into The Northwest Passage and Arctic regions, oversight of CAC fleet of Ice‑classed Explorer Vessels, Submersibles and Dive Operations for all Adventures Expeditions, Exploration, Treasure&Shipwreck Recovery, Underwater Film/ Documentary Entertainment‑ Climate Change/Global Warming/ Marine Research charter operations.
Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working in Arctic and/or Antarctica, including MED climate conditions. Minimum 5 Years Experience in Heavy Marine Offshore Commercial Industry. 5 Years Experience in Private Yachting Adventure/Exploration Industry is an asset. Minimum 10 Year’s Experience Minimum. 3rd class Engineer Certificates (STCW Endorsement). Passenger Safety Management. Ship Security Officer Course. Helicopter Safety Management– Crash Training Course is an asset. Marine Advance First Aid Course. Risk Management Training Course. Safety Awareness Course. A valid Marine Medical Certificate. Current Pass port. Knowledgeable and efficient with Word/PDF, procurement– Ship Supply Management programs. Engineers will be required to hold CAC's Mini Submarine Safety Management Course– Training will be provided. Knowledgeable and experienced with ROV and sonardeep water operations is not a requirement yet an asset. Providing Vision and Leadership Skills. Budgetary Compliance. Strategic Planning. Policy Development. Vessels Charter/Crewing – 12 guest– 10/12 crew. Permanent Positions–Salaries are DOE. Bilingual speaking is an asset. Personal/Social appearance: Must be 100% at all times. All tattoos must be covered by sleeves, No drinking or smoking of any kind while on charters with clients/guest onboard. Schedule: 8 weeks on/4 weeks off/12 hour shift. Candidates must have experience running 40m to 80m vessels or greater and have the correct visas and Pass Ports to work in Canada, Baffin Island, Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, UK, EU, Canary Islands, Bahamas, USA, Antarctica/Globally. References (Must) be provided, along with a detailed cover letter, resume, CV, and or bio. Security clearance check– criminal record check, driver’s abstracts, alcohol and drug test, current passport, marine certificates and current medicals will all be required upon hiring.
