The Opportunity As Maintenance Technician will work as part of the Shorefast construction/maintenance team and perform duties that will support day to day operations of the businesses. They will also aid in the development on new and ongoing projects.

What You’ll Do

Perform a variety of related maintenance and repair duties at various job sites and company properties as required.

Operate and maintain plow truck to remove snow from organization properties. (knowing hot to operate a bobcat, an asset)

Shovelling, sanding and salting company properties to ensure safe conditions for employees and personnel.

Perform general building, vehicle and machinery preventative maintenance tasks.

Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.

Assist carpenters with carpentry related tasks when needed.

Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.

Perform interior and exterior panting.

Build scaffolding and other temporary construction structures.

Must have the ability to work with, handle, load and unload, and process firewood for company properties.

Maintain maintenance tools and equipment.

Assist labourers with site clean up and material unloading and handling when required.

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Must be hardworking, reliable, independent, punctual, and willing to do a multitude of tasks with short notice.

Is organized and has effective time management skills.

Willing to participate in a flexible schedule to ensure job duties are completed.

Follow through on verbal and written work orders as directed by Supervisor and/or Coordinators.

Participate in all necessary training provided by the employer and adhere to all safety standards learned within said trainings.

Demonstrate safe work habits and knowledge of safety rules and instructions while performing job functions.

Operate equipment efficiently and safely.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Certificate or Experience in a trade considered an asset.

Class 5 drivers license is a requirement.

Ability to perform constant physical labor, operate tools and machinery, and lift as least 80lbs is required.

Ability to work in wet, damp, hot, cold, or dusty places required.

Ability to stoop or kneel in order to gain access to work areas required.

Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time required.

Ability to work effectively in both individual and group settings required.
