Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Line Cook / Kitchen Lead to join our vibrant restaurant team. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will oversee meal preparation, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and lead kitchen operations to deliver high-quality dishes efficiently. The ideal candidate will have restaurant experience, strong food handling skills, and a commitment to excellence in the food industry. Responsibilities - Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards - Lead kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service - Oversee food preparation, ensuring proper portioning, presentation, and consistency - Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in compliance with health regulations - Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed - Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management - Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned regularly - Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery Skills - Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or similar environment - Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards - Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment - Excellent skills in meal preparation and culinary techniques - Familiarity with the food industry trends and best practices in kitchen management - Exceptional attention to detail in food presentation and quality control - Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff - Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting - Professional appearance and positive attitude required - Year round employment for the right candidate - Experience with fryers, pizza preparation, food prep, high volume kitchen operations is considered a strong asset. - Punctuality reliability and strong work ethic are essential - Accommodations may be available for a qualified candidate relocating from outside the area. - South River Scoops ‘N’ More is fast growing family oriented restaurant and ice cream destination in the Almaguin Highlands operating year-round.
