Lumber Yard Associate/Delivery Driver (Placentia)

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Lumber Yard Associate/Delivery truck driver, to join our team. As an Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our lumber yard and customer deliveries, providing excellent customer service. This is a physically demanding position that requires heavy lifting and the ability to operate forklifts and drive heavy duty trucks. Duties: - Assist customers in selecting and loading building supplies - Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment - Organize and maintain inventory in the lumber yard - Cut lumber to specific dimensions using saws and other tools - Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the lumber yard - Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries and addressing concerns - Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently Experience: - Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required - Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods - Proficient in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment - Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively - Commercial driving experience is a plus Skills: - Moving: Ability to handle and transport heavy lumber products safely - Commercial driving: Experience driving commercial vehicles for deliveries (preferred) - Customer service: Excellent interpersonal skills to assist customers with their inquiries and provide exceptional service - Warehouse: Familiarity with warehouse operations, including inventory management and organization - Communication: Clear verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively - Heavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy objects, including lumber products, following proper safety guidelines - Forklift: Proficient in operating forklifts safely and efficiently We offer competitive pay rates, opportunities for career growth, and a supportive work environment.
