Vale Base Metals seeks a Senior Chemist to enhance laboratory operations at Voisey’s Bay, Labrador. Drive technical excellence in a permanent role with a 2/2 shift schedule.

In this Senior Chemist role, you’ll be pivotal in managing the Site Analytical Laboratory at Voisey’s Bay Mine Site. Your responsibilities include leading method development and validation, troubleshooting instrumentation issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Collaborate with a multicultural team while improving continuous laboratory operations and training personnel for optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:• Oversee the implementation of laboratory safety and QA/QC standards • Conduct method development and validation for lab techniques • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment • Analyze samples according to Standard Operating Procedures • Report findings via the Laboratory Information Management System

Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry required • 5+ years’ experience in an analytical lab environment • Familiarity with ICP, XRF, and LECO technologies • Proven ability in leading laboratory safety initiatives • In-depth knowledge of environmental and geochemical analysis
