Manager of People & Culture – Tru Earth Location: In office in Burlington, Ontario. The plant is currently operating in Mississauga and is scheduled to relocate to Burlington in May/June. The successful candidate must be willing to work in Mississauga initially and transition to Burlington following the move. Compensation: $85,000-$100,000 per year. Type: Permanent, Full Time. Responsibilities Leadership, Employee Engagement & Performance Serve as a visible, approachable presence within the plant, building trust with employees and leaders at all levels. Support supervisors and managers in having thoughtful, collaborative, timely conversations around performance expectations. Partner with leaders to navigate workplace concerns, misunderstandings, and team dynamics with fairness, care, and consistency. Provide guidance during difficult conversations to ensure people are heard, respected, and treated with dignity. Support leaders in addressing attendance, conduct, and performance matters in a way that balances accountability with respect. Conduct and manage complex or sensitive workplace investigations, including complaints, conflict resolution, and other concerns. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all employee matters. Employee Health & Safety and Well‑Being Promote a proactive safety culture with supervisors and employees. Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and well‑being. Ensure compliance with Ontario health & safety legislation and internal safety standards. Support and oversee health & safety programs within the plant setting. Participate in and support Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee activities and maintain all required safety documentation. Manage workplace injury reporting, documentation, and return‑to‑work coordination. Support employee well‑being initiatives within the facility. Recruiting, Onboarding & Training Lead high‑volume hiring efforts to ramp up operations in our new location. Lead full‑cycle recruitment and onboarding efforts to ensure new employees feel welcomed, prepared, and set up for success. Encourage a culture of open communication where feedback is constructive, direct, and rooted in shared goals and values. Support employee transitions, including offboarding, with professionalism and empathy. Data Analytics and Performance Tracking Develop key performance metrics for employee retention and engagement. Influence key business decisions through data‑driven insights, HR metrics, and talent analytics. Administration & Compliance Collaborate with the HR Manager in BC to ensure consistency and alignment across the business. Ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation and company policies. Maintain accurate HR documentation, employee records, and HRIS data (Employment Hero, Asana, and related tools). Partner closely with Payroll to ensure alignment and accuracy in employee data and employees are paid correctly and on time. Contribute to ESG‑aligned initiatives and support sustainability reporting as required. Oversee workplace injury processes, partnering with operations leaders to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Manage and communicate the Employee Benefits Program. Other duties as required. Education and Experience Post‑secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. 5–7+ years of progressive HR generalist or HRBP experience. 5+ years of experience working within a manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial workplace. Experience overseeing or directly supporting health & safety programs. Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment legislation, and performance management. Experience supporting multiple stakeholder groups, including hourly employees and senior leadership. CHRP/CHRL designation or working toward it is preferred. Knowledge and experience with ESG HR metrics an asset. Work Location, Schedule, and Other Considerations This role is fully in‑person, 5 days per week, Monday‑Friday. The plant operates from 7:00am‑11:30pm, running two shifts.
