Technical Writer II
Location: Burlington, Ontario (Hybrid) Position Summary
We are looking for a Technical Writer II to take on the responsibility of documenting cloud-based services infrastructure and tooling. This role encompasses developing, maintaining, and coordinating documentation, reports, and communiques for a cloud-based software application. Additionally, the position may require occasional after-hours work to promptly address urgent issues and uphold uninterrupted business operations for our users.Responsibilities
Write, maintain, coordinate, and produce all end-to-end technical software documentation for ProjectWise, including but not limited to reports, readme and What’s New publications, API documentation, user manuals, implementation and setup guides, for both print and online formats Interview ProjectWise subject matter experts for the purposes of gathering and dissecting relevant information for documentationUse structured DITA authoring tools to create and maintain product documentation Make use of shared content whenever possible Adhere to Bentley best practices and style guides Use Git repositories to store, upload, and download publications Publish via Azure DevOps pipelines and Git Provide regular updates to managementParticipate in regular progress meetings using Microsoft Teams Respond to inquiries from all levels of the organization pertaining to documentation Create and post blog and wiki announcements as needed Assist and mentor junior Technical Writers as needed Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Electronics, Telecommunication, Applied Technology or relevant field Certificate in Technical Writing preferred 4-7 years of experience as Technical Writer in software development and civil engineering applications, preferably in an enterprise system environment Experience writing for on-premises and cloud based enterprise system softwareExperience with DITA XML and structured authoring in an enterprise setting Experience with Oxygen XML Author, Microsoft Office Experience with Agile development cycles Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Windows servers, SQL databases, and networking. Proven experience working effectively independently as well as a member of a global teamAbility to take a technical concept and transform it into concise, accurate, unambiguous content relevant to the intended audience Ability to meet strict deadlines High attention to detail and strive for excellence, willingness to learn, and a team-focused can-do attitude Fluent in English Nice to Have
Experience writing technical publications for infrastructure and engineering industries Experience with publication localization Experience with Snagit, Microsoft Visio, and ServiceNow Benefits
