Eaton Corporation Canada is seeking a strategic, people-focused National Engineering Manager to lead its Central Engineering Team. This leadership opportunity is based in Burlington, Ontario, and offers comprehensive benefits starting on your first day. Reporting to the Director, Manufacturing Operations, this position leads the technology and product development team for Electrical Sector Americas, Canadian Operations. The team consists of engineering and program management professionals in our head office Burlington, ON. This position is responsible for overseeing the design, development and new product introduction for Systems and Products in the Canadian market to assure that financial, growth and technology productivity improvement objectives are met.This is accomplished by ensuring that sound, efficient, and professional engineering practices are utilized while identifying current and future product trends that align with our overall business strategy, thereby enabling Eaton to remain competitive on a regional basis with respect to cost, performance, quality and reliability. This role will lead the identification and development, or partnering, for differentiated product technology that supports growth by making Eaton a preferred solution to our customers. The role requires high-level leadership abilities to conceive program goals and directions, plan work efforts, establish an effective team, motivate subordinate managers, and provide technical advice to management and operating supervision while conferring with customers, consultants, contractors, or suppliers where coordination is important.It will act as an engineering consultant and advisor to the organization. Job Responsibilities

Lead Canadian efforts for new product development and technology for the Electrical Sector Canada. Champion innovation in the area of engineered assemblies in the context of power distribution, energy transition, power electronics and control applications. Provide a full-service engineering group that delivers design, engineering, and prototyping using cutting‑edge methodology, using PROLaunch as the means.Take the lead role for product standards development and product litigation including interface with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and Electro‑Federation Canada. Develop a multiyear engineering strategy to support organization growth through commercialization of new technology, team skillset development, university partnership and customer partnership.Serve as the organization’s lead with Eaton counterparts including SVP Chief Technology Officer and VP of Engineering Technology. Guide new product projects from concept to launch. Lead product design and development in accordance with market needs, new manufacturing technologies, Canadian safety standards, and Eaton’sPROLaunch and ProPM processes.Drive commonization/harmonization of North American designs and engineering standards between plants including satellites using industry and company best practices. Assure that product designs are competitive on a regional basis with respect to cost performance, quality, and reliability. Champion the use of Six Sigma tools for design and development across the organization.Collaborate with Product Management and Sales organizations to gain insight into regional markets as it relates to systems and products. Provide technical support to Product Management, Product Engineering, Service and Manufacturing Management as required on product designs, product certifications, manufacturing capability and post‑launch support.Manage and develop people; identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization. Act as Member for the respective Skilled Engineering Societies and manage and/or update the Professional Practice Management Plans annually where applicable. Manage department budget and performance to forecast.Demonstrate a leadership style that perpetuates the Eaton Attributes and the Eaton Code of Ethics. Ensure continuing compliance to the SMTC certification, ISO 17025, for the lab including adherence to electrical training and Eaton‑mandated and/or regulatory safety practices. Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering. Minimum of 10 years’ experience with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility in Engineering preferable in new product development with broad scope in electrical ecosystem consisting of firmware, software, cybersecurity, LVMV power distribution, and industrial controls.Experience should include 5+ years in project leadership developing electrical products with a successful track record of launching products to market on time and on budget. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the direct management of technical professionals. Must have P.Eng certification. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Preferred Qualifications

MBA Preferred. Experience in power distribution and control industry is preferred. Experience in program management is a strong asset. Skills

Strong leadership skills to lead and influence others. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong knowledge of engineering processes and procedures. Proven competency in the areas of building organizational capability, demonstrating a leadership style to get results, and being a visionary in strategic planning.Capable of seeing the big picture and ability to motivate the organization toward common goals. Ability to efficiently cooperate with diverse stakeholders in the organization. The expected annual salary range for this role is $144000 - $181000 a year. You are also eligible to a bonus program.
