Job Title Instructional Resource Teacher – Full Time TERM (Holly Spirit High School, CBS) Employment Details Commencement: September 8, 2026 – End: June 25, 2027 Competition End Date: June 05, 2026 8:00 AM Location: Holy Spirit High, 2694 Topsail Road, Conception Bay South, A1W 4B1 Role Description As an Instructional Resource Teacher (IRT), you will support a diverse range of learners by developing and delivering individualized programming. Your work will focus on meeting the unique needs of students through enrichment, academic intervention, social-emotional development, and the building of accessibility and adaptive skills. Key Responsibilities Engage professionally with colleagues, families, and communities. Plan and implement effective, responsive teaching and learning practices. Create a safe, positive learning environment for students and families. Demonstrate a love of learning and build learner and leadership capacity. Apply effective assessment practices. Speak on experience and competencies related to the 7 Standards of Practice for Instructional Resource Teachers. 7 Standards of Practice Foundations of Special Education Development and Characteristics of Learners Educational Assessment Planning and Delivering Instruction (combined) Learning Environment Cooperative Partnerships Reflective Practice Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Foundations of Special Education – understand and apply knowledge of special education foundations. Development and Characteristics of Learners – understand learner development and characteristics. Educational Assessment – understand the assessment process and employ diverse assessment strategies. Planning Instruction – understand student strengths and needs and apply this knowledge when planning instruction. Delivering Instruction – understand student strengths and needs and apply this knowledge when delivering instruction. Learning Environment – create an environment encouraging positive social interaction, active engagement, independence, and self‑motivation. Collaborative Partnerships – understand the importance of building partnerships to enhance student learning. Reflective Practice – continually evaluate one’s practice and seek professional growth opportunities to enhance student learning. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Education – Primary/Elementary/Secondary Bachelor of Special Education or equivalent NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher Equivalencies considered Salary & Benefits Annual teacher salary scale is contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement.
