Position: Wireless Solutions Architect / Consultant Duration: 6 months assignment with possible extension (contract) Client Location: Regina Saskatchewan (Remote: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday) Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only) Note on Assignment Type This position is provisionally Remote, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager. About the Engagement Akkodis is seeking a Wireless Solutions Architect / Consultant to provide enterprise-level wireless architecture, design, and advisory services for a complex, multi-site environment. This role will lead current-state assessments, define future-state wireless architectures, and guide large-scale transformation initiatives with a focus on performance, security, and scalability. Scope - Assess and document current wireless environments (SSID inventory, AP/controller landscape, traffic flows) - Design and define future-state enterprise Wi-Fi architectures and standards - Lead identity-based access and segmentation strategies using Cisco ISE - Facilitate stakeholder engagement, architecture governance, and approvals - Develop high-quality architecture documentation and standards. Assignment Deliverables - Current-state assessment reports (SSID, controller/AP inventory, traffic flow mapping) - Target-state Wi-Fi architecture and standards documentation - Authentication and Layer 2/Layer 3 traffic flow diagrams - RF design baseline parameters and SSID matrices. Expertise Required Must Have: - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field - 5+ years of experience as a Wireless Solutions Architect/Consultant in enterprise environments - Proven experience with: - Wireless controller and access point refresh/migration initiatives - WLAN standardization and multi-site rollouts - Wi-Fi performance optimization and capacity upgrades - Security implementations (802.1X, WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, certificate-based authentication) - Guest Wi-Fi design and segmentation - Active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE – Wireless) certification (in good standing) Nice to Have: - Exposure to automation tools for network configuration and monitoring - Knowledge of emerging Wi-Fi standards (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7).
