Formulations Assistant (Part Time) (Coquitlam)

With the continued growth of our business, we are seeking to hire a “Formulations Assistant” to join our team. This part time role is ideal for individuals with hands-on production experience or students/recent graduates studying Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related discipline who are eager to gain practical industry experience. Main Responsibilities will include (but not limited to): - Support the formulations team with weigh ups and sample preparation. - Identify opportunities to consolidate RAWs to reduce WH inventory and get better price breaks. - Test bulk densities for all finished products and build database for production to reference. - Support with documentation, formula entry and code creation. - Support with capsule fill test, tablet compression trial and master shipper size validation. - Organize raw materials, clean equipment used in the laboratory and maintain a clean working environment. - Other duties that may be assigned from time to time. Requirements: - Minimum of 1 year experience performing tableting, encapsulation, liquid, and powder formulation activities in a natural health product or related field is an asset. - Direct experience with blending, tablet press, and encapsulation equipment is an asset. - Good attention to details, organizational skills and tracking. - Experience using warehouse equipment (i.e. pallet jack) or desire to learn is an asset. - Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs as needed. - Able to work within a powder environment (PPE provided). - Strong computer skills (MS Office). - Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and other food quality & safety regulations.
