Job Title: Part‑time High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor

Employment Type: Part time

Pay: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Position Requirements All Teacher‑Tutors work after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred, with continued work through the summer considered an advantage.

This is an in‑person role; candidates must be able to commute to the location. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field

Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered

Teaching certification an asset

Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, especially senior math including Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and vectors, as well as physics, chemistry, and biology.

Experience

Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level

Strong English written and oral communication skills

Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding

Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details)

Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels

Teaching online and in‑person

Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies

Filling in post‑lesson notes

Completing daily student communication updates

Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
