Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plate Estimator & Project Manager to join our growing team. This dual-role position involves estimating and managing projects from concept through completion, with a focus on silencers, enclosures, fuel tanks, acoustic panels, and related mechanical noise control products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, mechanical or fuel systems, experience with acoustic materials and noise control, and the organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities: Estimating: - Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates. - Collaborate with sales, engineering, and suppliers to determine material costs, lead times, and scope of work - Prepare bid packages and RFQs for suppliers and subcontractors - Analyze and compare supplier quotes and propose value-engineering options when needed - Participate in pre-bid meetings and client consultations when required Project Management: - Oversee awarded projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery - Develop and manage project schedules, submittals, and procurement timelines - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and suppliers - Coordinate with internal teams (design, fabrication, shipping) to ensure accurate execution - Track project performance, manage change orders, and resolve issues promptly Qualifications: - 3 - 5 years of experience in construction estimating (plate work, sheet metal) - 5 years of experience in project management or production management - Knowledge of sound attenuation/acoustic products or fuel tanks is a solid asset - Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and industry practices - Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or other tools) - PMP certification or relevant training is an asset but not required What We Offer: - Competitive salary and benefits package - Opportunities for growth and development in a niche and growing industry - Supportive and collaborative work environment - Exposure to exciting and diverse projects across Canada Schedule: - Monday to Friday Education: - Bachelor's Degree (preferred) This posting corresponds to a current open position.
