The Opportunity The DEV Hotel & Conference Centre is looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative to support the growth of our business development activities across designated target markets. Assigned markets may include Montréal, Québec; New York City and the broader United States market; government, public-affairs, and lobbyist-related networks; as well as other strategic territories, industry segments, and relationship-based channels identified in support of the organization’s business development objectives. This role is focused on generating new opportunities, building relationships, and feeding qualified leads into the sales pipeline. You will work closely with the Director of Business Development to help drive revenue and expand our presence across key markets. This position is intended to strengthen the organization’s lead-generation capacity by identifying, qualifying, and referring potential business opportunities to the internal sales function for evaluation, follow-up, and potential conversion. The role is designed for an individual with established professional networks, sound judgment, strong relationship-management abilities, and a demonstrated capacity to identify viable opportunities within relevant sectors. The Business Development Representative will contribute to business development efforts by supporting market access, initiating qualified introductions, and providing relevant opportunity intelligence to the internal sales team. This role is not structured as a full-cycle sales position and does not carry primary responsibility for negotiating or closing complex agreements. Its primary purpose is to support pipeline development through qualified referrals and informed market engagement. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative and operational support to the Sales team, including: · Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets · Generate and qualify leads (corporate, government, events, etc.) · Build and maintain strong client relationships · Collaborate with the Director of Business Development on closing strategies · Maintain accurate tracking of leads and opportunities in CRM · Stay proactive in outreach (calls, emails, networking, events) · Represent the DEV Centre brand in a qualified and engaging manner Qualifications & Experience · 2–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or related field. · Experience in hospitality, events, or real estate (asset). · Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to exercise discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in external interactions. · Self-motivated with a strong results-driven mindset. · Strong organizational skills, follow-up discipline, and the ability to maintain accurate records of lead activity and related communications are required. · Comfortable working with targets and commissions. · Bilingual (French & English) – required Qualified and interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume, indicating the position title in the subject line to, The DEV Hotel and Conference Centre welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds.
