Bench Technician (Entry-Level) (Long Sault)

Meyer Service & Supply Ltd. is seeking a motivated entry‑level Bench Service Technician to join our service team at our Long Sault facility. This role is well‑suited for a recent graduate or early‑career technician looking to build hands‑on experience working with electronic and instrumentation‑based equipment in a structured, professional service environment. The Bench Technician will support instrument cleaning, testing, repair, and calibration activities under the guidance of experienced technicians. This position focuses primarily on in‑house bench work and is an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills, product knowledge, and documentation accuracy. This is a technical role, intended for individuals with formal training or education in electronics, mechatronics, or instrumentation. What You’ll Do - Clean, test, repair, and calibrate customer instruments under established procedures - Assist with troubleshooting and basic diagnostics using schematics and service documentation - Complete service paperwork, test forms, and calibration certificates accurately - Prepare instruments for shipment and return to customers - Support senior technicians and the service team with bench‑based service tasks - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area What We’re Looking For - College Diploma or University Degree in Electronic, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering Technology, or a related technical program - 0–2 years of hands‑on technical or bench experience (co‑op, internship, or practical training acceptable) - Basic proficiency with tools such as DMMs, soldering irons, and hand tools - Ability to read and follow schematics, service manuals, and written procedures - Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn - Good communication and teamwork skills - Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted French language skills are considered an asset, but not required.
