Host/Hostess (Cornwall)

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, managing reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring they have an exceptional experience from arrival to departure. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of hospitality, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not required; a positive attitude and customer service mindset are essential. Responsibilities - Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage guest seating arrangements to optimize flow and comfort - Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information about reservations, wait times, and general inquiries - Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms - Maintain a clean and organized host stand area - Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service - Assist guests with special requests or accommodations to enhance their dining experience - Handle guest concerns or complaints courteously and escalate issues when necessary - Support other front-of-house duties as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations Skills - Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor - Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction - Experience with serving or food service environments is a plus - Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms - Hospitality background, including hotel or restaurant experience, is advantageous - Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy setting while maintaining professionalism - Good organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to work well as part of a team in a dynamic workplace Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.60-$18.12 per hour Benefits: - Discounted or free food - On-site parking - Store discount Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2olepc
