Mechanical Design Technician (Cornwall)

Summary 'We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer/Technician to join our team in Cornwall, Ontario. This role is vital in supporting our engineering and design efforts to develop creative lighting solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing detailed design drawings, Bills of Materials, and providing technical specifications for manufacturing. Responsibilities ' Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings using SolidWorks. - Collaborate with engineering teams to create system designs and schematics. - Support the review and modification of designs to ensure compliance with industry standards. - Participate in project meetings to provide technical insights. - Maintain accurate records of design revisions and updates. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design process. - Develop technical solutions for modified and custom lighting products - Create detailed part, sub-assembly, and assembly drawings (2D/3D) - Produce electrical wiring diagrams and installation instructions - Modify and validate Engineering BOMs in PDM systems - Maintain accuracy of BOMs, part drawings, and product designs - Support improvements and updates to existing products - Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams - Build mock-ups and prototypes for evaluation Qualifications - Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering principles. - Experience in drafting, schematics, system design, and assembly. - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. - College diploma in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field - Minimum 3 years of product design or drafting experience - Strong skills in project management, organization, and problem-solving - Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD (2D/3D), and PDM systems - Understanding of manufacturing methods (sheet metal, plastic, extrusion, etc.) - Knowledge of BOM structures and creation - Ability to interpret technical and electrical drawings - Experience in LED lighting industry is an asset - Effective communication skills in English or French - Prior experience in lighting or electrical industries is advantageous.'},{ Pay: $49,617.95-$111,890.79 per year Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ptgty
