Warehouse Lead Hand (Cumberland)

Job Summary The Warehouse Lead-hand plays a crucial role within our food facility's logistics operations, responsible for inventory management, storage, receiving, and shipping of food products and materials. This position demands attention to detail, teamwork, and effective coordination to ensure smooth warehouse operations and timely deliveries. Duties - Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular counts, and update systems to track product quantities. - Receiving: Receive and inspect incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards. - Driver Co-ordinator: Communicate with drivers, ensuring deliveries and truck operations are on-time, damage free, deliveries are accurate and documentation is completed. - Storage: Organize and store products in designated locations, following proper storage protocols and rotation practices. - Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently for timely shipping. - Shipping: Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging, and coordinate shipments with carriers. - Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner. - Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipping documents, and other warehouse-related activities. - Health and Safety: Follow safety protocols for equipment operation, handling materials, and maintaining a safe working environment. - Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancement, organization, and waste reduction in warehouse activities. - Food Safey: Report food safety issues to Operations Manager and SQF Practitione. Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent. · Previous experience in warehouse operations, supervisory experience an asset. · Willingness to learn and follow warehouse and food safety protocols. · Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment. · Computer skills for data entry and documentation.
