Community-Focused Communications Advisor (Courtenay)

Drive meaningful community engagement as a Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor for the Comox Valley Regional District. This permanent role offers a chance to influence public communication strategies.

As a vital part of the Communications and Engagement Team, you’ll spearhead communications initiatives that align with CVRD’s strategic priorities. This position demands excellent writing and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. Youll be responsible for developing communications materials and engaging with diverse community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: • Design and implement outreach and engagement plans • Manage media interactions and public inquiries • Ensure alignment of messaging with organizational goals • Provide senior-level guidance and communications training • Develop diverse communication materials, from reports to social media

Requirements: • Degree in communications, public relations, or relevant field • Over three years communications experience • Proficient in digital marketing and social media channels • Robust knowledge of community engagement practices • Must hold a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license
