Job description: Zero Waste Ambassador Local Refillery is Comox Valley’s recent planet-friendly grocer and lifestyle store! We carry essential grocery store and bulk food items as well as cleaning and beauty products. Our ‘weigh and pay’ shopping experience makes it as convenient as possible for people to transition to a plastic-free, lower-impact lifestyle. Working as part of a team, the Zero-Waste Ambassador performs all general operations, merchandising duties and customer facing responsibilities required to successfully maintain day to day operations. Key Accountabilities The Zero Waste Ambassador is responsible for the following: - Ability to operate store point of sale register; complete store daily open/close functions; - Providing exceptional customer service; - Assisting in refilling, restocking of all merchandise; - Educating and training on zero-waste best practices; - Responsible for keeping store clean and uncluttered; - Receive, check, and shelve merchandise orders; confirm purchase orders and manage the store’s inventory; and - Positive attitude and professional demeanor Job Requirements - Experience in the retail or service industry is an important asset; - Ability to work in a fast-paced customer centric environment; - Ability to efficiently organize time and manage priorities; - Must be a strong team player - Flexibility with regard to availabilities and work schedules (Required weekend availbility) Skills and Abilities - Strong interpersonal and ethical behavior to manage the company’s assets and engage with customers; - Basic math skills to count, add, subtract and convert in KG to 100gram etc; and - Excellent customer service skills that nurtures a strong relationship-educational environment. Work Environment / Travel / Physical Demands - Normal retail store environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, etc; - Must be able to work independently with remote supervision; - Bending, lifting, reaching for and moving merchandise.
