Job Title: Sprinkler Fitter / Fire Protection Location: British Columbia Employment Type: Full-time Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week Wage: $23 to $43 based on education and experience Reports to: Site Supervisor About us Interior Plumbing & Heating Ltd. Position Summary IPH is looking for a Sprinkler Fitter Journeyperson, high level apprentices or Foreman with either residential, commercial or industrial experience. Handle tools and equipment safely while ensuring proper maintenance and usage. - Lay out, fabricate, install, and test fire-suppression systems (e.g., wet/dry/pre-action pipe sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pump systems). - Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and fire protection schematics - Perform system testing, inspections, and commissioning to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards - Diagnose and troubleshoot system deficiencies and make necessary repairs - Coordinate work with project managers, forepersons, engineers, and other trades - Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and inspection records - Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality of IPH - Comply with company safety policies, WorkSafeBC regulations, and site-specific safety requirements Qualifications - Journeyperson Sprinkler Fitter certification or apprentice with relevant experience. - Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, materials, and installation practices. - Familiarity NFPA Code requirements. - Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting, and working at heights. - Ability to work in varying weather conditions where there is exposure to dust, water, noise and physical hazards. - Experience working on multi-family residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
