Position: Electrical Engineer Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Department: Buildings & Industry Group We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Halifax. This role involves designing and managing electrical systems for commercial buildings , light industrial facilities , and complex projects across Atlantic Canada. Key Responsibilities - Design and specify electrical systems for buildings, including: - Power distribution , essential power systems (generators, UPS), grounding design. - Telecommunications , data systems, security, and fire alarm systems. - Lighting and lighting control systems . - Prepare technical specifications , feasibility studies, and design briefs. - Conduct building condition assessments and options evaluations. - Estimate construction costs and develop project documentation. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate and efficient designs. Qualifications - Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed with Engineers Nova Scotia. - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering . - 7+ years of experience in electrical design for building systems. - Familiarity with Nova Scotia market is an asset. - Proficiency in Revit , AutoCAD , and Microsoft Office . - Proficiency with AGi32 lighting design software. - Experience with SKM Power Tools software is an asset. - Strong knowledge of Canadian Building Codes , Canadian Electrical Code, electrical standards, and best practices. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
