Position Title: Substitute School Cleaner / Custodian Location: Pike-Delta-York Local Schools / Delta, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $13.00/Hour About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and hardworking Substitute School Cleaners/Custodians to support school facilities teams when regular staff members are unavailable. This role is important in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Substitute custodians assist with daily cleaning tasks, light maintenance, and general building upkeep across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and shared spaces.Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust assigned areas Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners as needed Assist with cafeteria cleanup, including wiping tables and maintaining floors Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or restocking suppliesSet up and break down rooms for events or activities when needed Ensure safe handling and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damages to supervisors Follow district cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and schedules Work collaboratively with custodial staff and school personnelRequired Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Clean criminal background check Obtain an Ohio ID account and enroll in the Ohio rapback program Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and moving equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanlinessDependability, punctuality, and professionalism Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experienceFamiliarity with cleaning equipment and safe chemical handling practices Experience working in school or institutional environments What We Offer Flexible scheduling options Opportunities to gain experience in school facilities operations Pathways to other school-based opportunities Potential for long-term substitute assignmentsOptions for limited medical benefits Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
