Math Teacher (Tsawwassen)

Join us, and be inspired! Sylvan is seeking a senior high school math and science instructor at the Tsawwassen location. As a tutor at Sylvan, your responsibility is teaching only. You do not have to prepare lesson plans or report cards. You will be trained on how to deliver the proven Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a 3:1 setting. Experience in teaching/ tutoring pre-calculus and calculus is mandatory. We have instruction six days a week and are currently looking for tutors who can work at least 3-4 days per week from Monday to Friday (from 3 pm to 8 pm) and Saturdays 9 am to 2 pm (minimum two-hour shift). As a successful Sylvan senior high school math tutor, you need to: · have a completed bachelor's degree in Math or Engineering · have at least two years of high school math tutoring experience · have a thorough understanding of the BC math curriculum (especially grade 8 to 12) · be fluent in English · be passionate about helping students to be successful in school and in life · be detail-oriented when evaluating and documenting student progress · communicate student needs to the education manager on a regular basis Previous Sylvan Experience is an asset but not mandatory.
