Traffic Controller Coordinator Delta

Overview We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Traffic Controller Manager to oversee traffic management operations at construction and paving sites. This leadership role involves coordinating traffic flow, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and managing a team of traffic controllers. The ideal candidate will possess robust knowledge of heavy equipment operation, construction processes, and paving activities, with a focus on maintaining productive site operations and safety standards. Responsibilities Monitors contractor construction activities and progress through regular site inspections and daily reporting, identifying observations, concerns, risks, and potential issues impacting schedule, quality, or compliance. Acts as a subject-matter expert and trusted advisor to project leadership, supporting traffic management activities. Reviewing, submitting and receiving all Traffic Management submissions Managing Traffic Management Plans. Provides oversight of in office work to verify compliance Owner requirements related to traffic management, including environmental and occupational health and safety standards. Supports construction coordination and risk management in traffic management related matters by attending construction meetings, facilitating interface coordination between contractors, and providing advice and guidance on construction issues and dispute resolution. Documents and reports to project leadership on traffic control measures and incidents in accordance with Traffic Management Plans. Builds and maintains effective working relationships with contractor teams and liaises with external stakeholders (e.g., Metro Vancouver, BC Hydro, third-party developers) to support issue resolution and integrated project delivery. Requirements Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, or a relevant field with a specialty in Construction Management. Ten years of field experience in traffic management on heavy civil infrastructure projects, with a focus on logistics and material management Strong understanding and experience working with major project contracts, including language interpretation and administration. Valid certifications in traffic control or flagging are advantageous. Prior experience in paving or heavy construction projects is a plus.
