Overview We are seeking a skilled Rock Truck Operator to join our construction team in Delta. This role involves operating heavy equipment to support various construction projects, ensuring efficient material transport and site safety. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy machinery, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing a range of construction equipment and techniques. Responsibilities - Operate rock trucks and other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, backhoes, and paving equipment to transport materials across construction sites. - Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. - Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and paving tasks as needed. - Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working setting for yourself and team members. - Coordinate with project managers and team members to meet project deadlines and specifications. - Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing basic repairs when necessary. - Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities. Skills - Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment including Caterpillar machinery such as dozers, graders, loaders, excavators, and horizontal drilling rigs. - Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. - Ability to operate specialized equipment such as backhoes, loaders, graders, and paving machines efficiently. - Commercial driving experience with the ability to operate trucks safely on construction sites. - Familiarity with construction site safety standards and procedures. - Excellent communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors. - Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. - Prior experience with heavy equipment operation in construction environments is highly preferred. This position is integral to the successful completion of our projects in Delta, requiring dedicated individuals with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship.
