Our partner, O'Brien Material Handling, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join their team in Memramcook, Recent Brunswick. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is ready to grow within a proudly Atlantic Canadian manufacturing company. O'Brien overhead cranes have been manufacturing locally in Memramcook for over 30 years and are the only full-service crane manufacturer in Atlantic Canada. Known for their reputation for excellence and their commitment to local industry, O'Brien builds overhead crane solutions for day-to-day and industry-specific lifting requirements across the region and beyond. OVERVIEW As a Junior Accountant, you will support the organization's day-to-day financial operations and report directly to the Controller. Your responsibilities will span accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, financial record keeping, and occasional reception and office administration duties. This role is ideal for a self-starting, detail-driven accounting professional who brings initiative, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for their work. HIGHLIGHTED DUTIES - Process vendor and supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner, and post customer and supplier invoices and receipts - Follow up on customer accounts requiring payment and resolve outstanding concerns - Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end preparation - Balance and control cash receipts and cheques, and run credit checks to open new customer accounts - Process vehicle renewals and quarterly IFTA/IRP reports - Maintain filing systems, both electronic and hard copy, and update information across a variety of spreadsheets and databases - Prepare crane inspection certifications, training cards, and booklets for training purposes - Provide excellent customer service when answering inquiries or resolving customer disputes - Support office administration, including ordering supplies and booking hotels for service and installation departments EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - A university degree or college diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma is required - Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role - Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting principles and reconciliation - Proficient in AS400, Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel - Bilingualism is considered an asset WHAT THEY OFFER - The opportunity to join a well-established, proudly Atlantic Canadian manufacturer with a 30-year track record - A collaborative and values-driven team environment - A role with real variety, combining accounting responsibilities with meaningful day-to-day impact - Competitive compensation aligned with experience and qualifications For questions, please contact We thank all interested candidates for their time; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
