Description
Production Supervisor The Production Supervisor supervises operational activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and with a high level of quality. JOB TASKS - Responsible for overseeing employees to ensure safety, quality and adherence to policies and procedures - Motivates employees to strive to exceed productivity targets - Ensures adherence to all SQF standards such as prevention of contaminated product and glass and brittle plastics - Monitors and reports on employee attendance - Schedules and reports vacation time while ensuring equipment is not short-staffed - Executes an efficient production schedule through the utilization of people, material, and machines to meet customer requirements - Performs daily team meetings to communicate organizational objectives to employees along with their shift specific performance - Monitors and ensures the existence of a lean manufacturing working environment to promote a high-performance culture - Executes decisions on whether materials are nonconforming; if deemed so are properly labeled, documented, investigated, and forwarded to Quality Assurance - Works with customers during approvals of current products - Ensures employees are performing good housekeeping practices, with an emphasis on weekly cleaning of the equipment - Performs corrections of production errors within the ERP system while coaching personnel on how to prevent the errors - Performs candid employee appraisals focusing on performance goals and deadlines established by the Supervisor - Provides regular coaching to ensure employees are motivated and supporting the fiscal objectives COMPETENCIES - Must have strong, demonstrated leadership abilities - Must be able to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment - Must have excellent communication and time-management skills - Must have above-average mechanical skills - Must be reliable, with high integrity and a strong work ethic - Must be an advocate for the organization and employee - Must have the ability and willingness to work scheduled shifts - Must have the ability to lift items of 40 lbs and perform duties involving repetitive stretching motions, stair/ladder climbing, and standing REQUIRMENTS - Secondary school (high school) diploma - Experienced in coaching and mentoring within a work group PREFFERED - Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment - College or university degree - Knowledge of production execution in SAP What's in it for YOU? - Competitive wages - Comprehensive health and dental benefits - Defined contribution pension plan - Profit Sharing program - Training and development support - On site gym and cafeteria - Being part of an awesome team #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2p8ufu
