Warehouse & Receiving Manager (Amherst)

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of inventory and distribution processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, expertise in warehouse management systems, and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain logistics. This role involves supervising staff, managing materials, and implementing process improvements to optimize warehouse performance. Duties - Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping. - Manage and utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and AS400 to track inventory levels and streamline workflows. - Supervise warehouse staff, providing training and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. - Plan and execute demand forecasting, demand planning, and freight logistics to meet customer needs efficiently. - Oversee warehouse distribution activities including 3PL partnerships and freight management. - Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations through effective materials management. - Develop and implement process improvements for continuous operational efficiency and cost reduction. - Manage budgeting related to warehouse operations, including staffing, equipment maintenance, and supplies. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety audits. - Lead initiatives for process improvement and supply chain optimization to enhance overall warehouse productivity. Skills - Proficiency with Warehouse Management System (WMS). - Strong supervising experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively. - Expertise in order fulfillment, materials management, and warehouse distribution processes. - Experience working with 3PL providers and managing supply chain operations. - Skills in process improvement methodologies such as continuous improvement initiatives. - Ability to operate forklifts safely; relevant certification preferred. - Familiarity with budgeting processes related to warehouse operations. - Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and documentation. - Strong analytical skills for demand forecasting and supply chain optimization.
