Safety Advisor - Transmission Project Role (Cumberland County)

Valard Construction is seeking a Field Safety Advisor for the Wasoqonatl Transmission Line project in Amherst, NS. This field-based role involves direct safety oversight on a 24/14 schedule. Reporting to the Regional Safety Supervisor, the Field Safety Advisor ensures a safe environment for all personnel involved in the project. Responsibilities include coaching staff, preparing safety reports, and facilitating weekly safety meetings, all while reinforcing health and safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities: • Serve as a safety resource to all site personnel • Assist in the investigation of safety incidents • Conduct regular safety and hazard inspections • Facilitate effective safety meetings and reporting • Ensure JSAs are available for crew discussions Requirements: • Relevant post-secondary education in safety • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety • Certification: NCSO or CRST preferred • Robust computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office • Valid driver's license and familiarity with relevant regulations Join Valard Construction and lead safety initiatives for a successful project execution.
