Safety Advisor - Transmission Project Role (Amherst)

Valard Construction is seeking a Field Safety Advisor for the Wasoqonatl Transmission Line project in Amherst, NS. This field-based role involves direct safety oversight on a 24/14 schedule. Reporting to the Regional Safety Supervisor, the Field Safety Advisor ensures a safe environment for all personnel involved in the project. Responsibilities include coaching staff, preparing safety reports, and facilitating weekly safety meetings, all while reinforcing health and safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as a safety resource to all site personnel - Assist in the investigation of safety incidents - Conduct regular safety and hazard inspections - Facilitate effective safety meetings and reporting - Ensure JSAs are available for crew discussions Requirements: - Relevant post-secondary education in safety - Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety - Certification: NCSO or CRST preferred - Solid computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office - Valid driver's license and familiarity with relevant regulations Join Valard Construction and lead safety initiatives for a successful project execution.
