Shuttle Driver, Dieppe

This is an interview position. Responsibilities include loading and unloading freight, scanning, sorting, and transporting freight within and between facilities.

Responsibilities

Load and unload freight and documents, scan and sort packages within the facility.

Transport freight within and between facilities.

Perform shuttle functions with a non‑articulated vehicle.

Audit the size and weight of packages.

Separate packages by service type and destination according to established procedures.

Scan packages with computerized tracking equipment.

Ensure safety procedures in handling packages.

Secure FedEx Canada and customer property (packages, equipment, vehicles).

Clean, wash, and perform minor maintenance on vehicles as necessary.

Comply with regulations established by local airport authorities.

Operate vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, complying with all government regulations and company procedures.

Pick up and make emergency deliveries, not exceeding 10% of work time.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Maintain cargo area temperature and protect freight during loading/unloading.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid, fully unrestricted Class 5/Class G licence and a good driving record.

Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrent training.

Some knowledge of FedEx Express Canada operations and Canadian customs regulations is an asset.

Ability to lift 70 lbs or maneuver any package up to 150 lbs with proper equipment or assistance.

Good interpersonal skills.

Must be bilingual (French and English) if located in Quebec.

Must perform temperature control functions on vehicles where required.

Must comply with vehicle pre‑ and post‑inspection, trip inspection and temperature‑control‑unit inspection regulations.

Adhere to operating procedures to conserve cargo area temperature and protect freight.

Preferred Qualifications

Class 5 licence holder available Monday to Friday 04:45 – 11:30.
