Recreation Therapist (Duncan)

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience Bachelor''s degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Eligible for registration with the British Columbia Therapeutic Recreation Association. Comprehensive knowledge Mental Health and Substance Use rehabilitation practices. Relevant clinical experience. Valid BC drivers license. Skills And Abilities Ability to work independently, plan and organize workload, maintain flexibility and establish priorities. Ability to select, administer, implement, score, analyze and interpret standardized and non-standardized assessments. Ability to select goal-directed and outcome-oriented interventions aimed at maintenance and/or enhancement of individual leisure status and functional level. Ability to collaborate effectively with others including clients, families, support workers, volunteers, referring professionals, recreation centres and other agencies. Ability to work effectively as part of an inter-professional team. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including interviewing, interpersonal and leadership skills, problem-solving ability and conflict resolution skills. Physical ability to perform the duties of this position. Computer literacy with software programs such as Word Processing and Microsoft Outlook. Knowledge of the principles of adult education and demonstrated ability to teach and empower clients. Ability to practice sound qualified judgment, empathy, tact and integrity.
