Red Seal / Journeyman Carpenter Southall’s Construction Ltd. Shawnigan Lake, BC Full-time | In-person $35–45 per hour + performance bonuses Southall’s Construction Ltd. is hiring a Red Seal / Journeyman Carpenter to work on high-end custom homes in the Cowichan Valley. This role is for someone who takes ownership of their work, builds to a high standard, and contributes to productive, well-run job sites. There are opportunities to expand into excavation, site services, and truck/trailer operations through our sister company, Southall Services, for candidates interested in broadening their skill set. Responsibilities - Build custom homes from framing through finishing - Read and execute construction drawings and details - Deliver consistent, high-quality workmanship - Mentor apprentices and junior crew members - Coordinate with site supervisors and trades - Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site - Identify issues early and assist in problem-solving - Assist with excavation and site services as required - Support truck, trailer, and equipment logistics when applicable - Be flexible to work longer hours when project schedules or milestones require it Requirements - Red Seal / Journeyman Carpenter or equivalent experience - Minimum 7 years residential carpentry experience - Experience with custom or high-end residential construction - Ability to work independently and lead by example - Willingness to mentor and support team development - Willingness to adjust hours as needed to meet project demands - Valid driver’s licence - Reliable transportation to Shawnigan Lake, BC Required Tools - Steel-toed boots - Well-equipped tool belt Pay & Benefits - $35–45/hr, based on experience - Performance- and improvement-based bonuses - Health and dental benefits after 3 months - Company-sponsored lunches every second Friday - Exposure to excavation, site services, and truck/trailer operations - Long-term growth opportunities for high performers Job Type: Full-time Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2prqdl
